Immigration We believe that our Nation was founded on the principles of liberty, justice, and opportunity, common to the hope of all peoples and inherent to the longings of humanity and as a sanctuary from oppression and tyranny for those willing to accept our Nation’s tenets so they might be rewarded with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in a free state. We believe our Constitution, its premise and provisions, seeks to destine all under its purview with the blessings of equal protection and justice but that these blessings are not free from duty of the people and our government to defend and preserve them. Those born in our Country to legal residents inherit its blessings at birth. Those not born in our Country but who are willing to accept her tenets and laws receive those blessings as a gift. But those who have not inherited or have had bequeathed unto them the blessings and privileges of America, take those things uninvited and without permission and absent loyalty to the duty to protect and preserve them. This, we believe, is an erosion to the rights, contributions to society, and sacrifices of people who lawfully reside here. We believe those persons who arrive or remain in the United States without permission should not be afforded the same privileges as those who lawfully reside in the United States. We do not believe that all illegal immigrants come to our country for ill or sinister purpose, or to intentionally erode foundations established in principle and law that have made this Nation great. But we also believe that it is impossible to separate those illegal immigrants from the illegal immigrants who do. And, we believe that it is disrespectful to all lawful residents and visitors to the United States to fail to distinguish them, through deed, act, and law, from illegal immigrants |
