1st Amendment

We the people understand and acknowledge that the Founding Fathers of this great land had specific intention of putting first things first.

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution;

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the full exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press; or the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

We acknowledge that the First Amendment grants citizens the right to Freedom of Religion, which is to worship their chosen religion without the interference of the National Government, in any way shape or form that does not impede the rights of another. Yet, it also protects us from the Freedom from Religion, where the national government shall not be dominated by any one specific religion or sect of religion.

We acknowledge that the First Amendment grants the citizens the Freedom of Speech, to speak out about our government, its officials, elected or un-elected, along with their policies and performance.

We acknowledge that the First Amendment grants the citizens the Freedom of the Press. The press shall be free and unfettered to publicize the news and events of our government, the decisions they are making and the means and ways they are to implement those decisions. The press has the freedom to inform the people of all of these without coercion or influence from any part of the national government.

We acknowledge that the First Amendment grants the citizens the Freedom to Peaceably Assemble, in celebration or protest of our government, in any public place or time that does not infringe on the rights of others.

We acknowledge that the First Amendment grants the citizens the Freedom to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Whether it is as an individual or, the afore mentioned, peaceful assembly, to have our government change it’s current policies, action or in-action.

To quote, Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson; “…..when a long train of abuses and usurpations pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce [the people] under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and provide new guards for their future security.”

We the people acknowledge and thank our Founding Fathers for these rights they fought and struggled for, so that we may be dutiful guardians of Freedom.
